  • Can I record the shows or make it a PVR or DVR?

Yes, ShavaTV offers this amazing feature, now you can watch and also record live shows. For Standard Shava box (which has 9 digit s/n), you need to purchase the SATA Hard Drive separately. SATA Hard Drive of 2-1/2 Inch Size (which may be purchased from Best Buyer or other Electronic stores or online resources) fits inside the ShavaTV Box, by opening cover in the bottom. External Hard Drive will help you to download some of the recorded movies etc. but will not work as a PVR .
Also to note the Shava Plus Model, which has 10 Digit S/n does not have that SATA Hard Drive option. For this box you just need a USB drive to attach with the box and while one channel you can press record button to setup recording.

  • How Can I perform the recording?

Just press Record button on your ShavaTV remote control – it may pause your show but you should press the same button again for it to play. Your recording is already started. You may also be able to record one show and watch an other but sometimes there may be unexpected stops in recording. As long as you see the record sign on the box it should be recording.

  • How Can I play or stop the recording?

From the Main Menu you can go to Program Record or Internal memory Option and see the recorded shows. You can select and play the desired show. Also with some boxes, you can press the left key to stop or delete or set up timers for your recording.

  • Can I watch my own stored content through ShavaTV?

Yes, you can watch pictures, movies, videos (HD up to 1080p) downloaded on your memory stick. Most of the video and audio formats are supported but few types of formats may not work. Plug in your external memory stick or external hard drive in the USB port on your unit then browse your USB media.

  • Can I access YouTube on my ShavaTV?

Yes, popular YouTube content is easily accessible through ShavaTV. In order to search a video please highlight the search box and then press ‘ok’. The letters and numbers will appear in the bottom to help you to add the text to the search area.

  • What is included in ShavaTV Package?

ShavaTV Set top box, Remote Control, Audio/Video cable, Ethernet Wire, Power Adapter, WIFI Adapter (or WIFI Antenna), HDMI cable. Also, if you need any separate accessories you can easily order with a local dealer or online at shavatv.com.

  • How Much Optimal Internet Speed is required for ShavaTV to work properly?

ShavaTV works best when you are getting 1.5 MBPS or more. You can connect to your router through the Ethernet wire or the wireless adapter (some models may have WIFI or wireless adapter already built in the box). The internet speed keeps changing, depending on service, time and load on the network, but it should remain at least 1.5 MBPS to work properly (1MBPS speed may also work but the quality may suffer).

  • How do I connect to my internet?

Ethernet wire connection to your internet router or modem (if it is close enough to your TV) is recommended. If it is not close by, you can use the WIFI antenna (with Shava Plus model) or Wireless Adapter (with Standard Shava Model) to connect to your network. Also note that if your box (Standard Shava box) has a Wifi or Wireless Adapter then using a USB extension cable in between your Shava box and the WIFI adapter is recommended for better connection. A USB Extension cable can easily be purchased online on any major Electronic store.

  • What is the warranty process if my ShavaTV goes bad?

Your ShavaTV now comes with 12 Months warranty. Also, please carefully read our warranty policy, given in detail on Warranty page. ShavaTV has a 14 days return policy. If you ship the unit back to us within 14 days after receiving it, your payment will be refunded after deduction of 15% restocking fee. And customer will have to pay for any mail charges for returning the item.

  • How to Register or Activate the Box? And addressing the “Account Expired” message.

Once you connect a new box to the internet successfully it will take you to the registration page. Here you click “OK” button on your Shava remote control and you will see the keypad on your tv screen. Use that keypad to add your name on the first bar where is says “Account” or “Name”. Then on the bars your country and email address are needed. Submit once done and you should receive a message showing that its activated. If it does not go though properly or you get “Account Expired Message” (with new or old box) then please email us the detail of the issue with your box s/n to support@gmail.com.

  • Can I update any recent software to my box?

Yes – here is how:
1- You can first check and make sure that your box really needs any update so for that you can contact your dealer or email us the box s/n and leave it Wired and ON (WIFI is not recommended during online updates) at support@shavatv.com . Our staff will check it and if need then will send the update signal otherwise will not do any changes. During the update your box will restart and get the new file stored into the box. Sometimes due to memory or network reason, the box may not get the full file and may get stuck in the middle. In that case please leave it wired on and email us the detail with s/n.
2- You can try it manually by downloading and saving the recent file into a USB drive from download.shavatv.com and try it manually. The procedure is given on that web page. But before doing that just make sure that you download the right file for your box model and also you email us with box s/n and needed details to check if your box really needs any updates, otherwise your box may have unwanted load and other issues.
